Habrolo, the creampuff gay bar of Budapest

Habrolo Bar Budapest

A strange name for a gay bar, but so refreshing from the usual, eagle, stud, appollo or whatever takes us back to prestonewall days. Habrolo is the name of a local cream pastry (unfortunately not available in the bar).

Habrolo is located centrally on Szép street next to Funny Carrot. And this is as close as you’ll get to a gay street in Budapest.

On a balmy Summer night, expect people to be out on the sidewalk enjoying their beer.

For fun, check out their Thursday of Sunday night Karaoke. It’s a lot of fun, even if you can’t sing.

The space has three areas: the bar, the back sitting area and an mezzanine. The setup makes it easy to join in the conversation and meet people without pressure.
